I due rilievi raffigurano personificazioni mitologiche che racchiudono in sé piccoli esseri umani. Nivola sembra associare il tema della propria storia personale, guardando alle peripezie che dalle difficoltà della vita in un villaggio della Sardegna lo hanno portato negli ambienti artistici di Milano e di New York come al risultato delle scelte di un dio distante che si diverte a collocare gli umani nelle situazioni più impensate. In una delle due sculture, probabili studi per opere di arte pubblica, Nivola ha sperimentato l'uso di frammenti di ceramica a scopo decorativo.

The two bas-reliefs represent mythological figures that contain smaller human beings within their larger forms. Nivola may be tying the theme to his own personaI life, seeing his fortunes (from the struggle to survive in a Sardinian village to the artistic circles of Milan and New York) as the whims of distant gods who, for their own amusement, place us in the most improbable circumstances. In the second of the two sculptures, both possible studies for public art projects, Nivola experiments with ceramics fragments for decorative purposes.
